Of course there are a whole lot of Mexican Drink Recipes out there especially since tequila is such a popular alcoholic beverage.

Now Cinco de Mayo actually is not a big holiday in Mexico but for some reason here in the United States it is a huge day for drinking so get your sombreros out and let’s get mixing.

The Tequila shot
1 1/2 oz tequila
Lemon or lime wedge
Salt (from the wrist of course)

The Margarita
1 oz tequila
1/2 oz triple sec
2 oz lime juice, fresh squeezed
2 teaspoons sugar
Salt
Lime wedge
Crushed ice

Micheladas (beer cocktail)
Chilled Beer glass/mug Ice
1 cold Mexican beer (dark is better)
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
1-2 dashes of hot chili sauce (hot sauce Mexican brand preferred)
1 dashes of soy sauce
1 dashes worchestshire sauce
Lime
Salt (for the rim)

Spicy sangrita
3/4 cup tomato sauce (pure nothing added)
1/2 cup orange juice (a lot prefer no pulp)
3 tablespoons lime juice
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
2 tablespoons Tabasco sauce

Waborita (by Sammy Hagar/Cabo Wabo)
2 oz premium Cabo Wabo tequila
2 oz lime juice, fresh squeezed
2 oz Cointreau
Ice
Salt (optional for rim of glass)
*blended drink

Mexican Piña Colada
8oz light rum (get the good stuff)
1/2 cup pineapple juice
1/2 cup pineapple
3/4 cup coconut milk
Ground cinnamon (a dash)
Ice (add in blender last)
Pineapple

Tequila Fuego Shooters
1 1/2 oz tequila
1 teaspoon chili sauce
1 teaspoon lime juice
1 onion powder (only a dash)
1 lime wedge
Salt
1 jalapeno ring (not the whole thing you don’t want to kill em)

These are just a few Mexican drink recipes and as you can see you can also call a lot of them Tequila drink recipes. All good bartenders and hosts need to know a couple of great recipes for every special occasion throughout the year
